Day at Ponder School Looks Like
- Arrival: Children and parents greet teachers and each other. When you enter our doors, you will feel the warmth of our space and staff, the excitement, and the positive energy.
- Breakfast: Healthy breakfast time as children settle in.
- Morning Circle: This circle time is filled with connection, setting goals and intentions, and sparking curiosity.
- Outside Time: Intentional outside time for gross motor activities, fresh air, and natural science explorations.
- Morning Snack: Healthy snacks to help keep our energy up.
- Small Group: Children are invited to developmentally focused projects and investigations.
- Free Choice: Children can choose activities, materials, art mediums, and tools to engage with and test their ideas.
- Lunchtime: Whole-class social time focusing on conversation, self-help skills, and building healthy eating habits.
- Literacy: Developmentally focused small group time for hands-on, play-based explorations of reading and writing.
- Stretching and Exercise: This helps children experiment with breath, stillness, and self-regulation, while the physical poses assist in building gross and fine motor skills, coordination, balance, and strength.
- Rest/nap Time: Children can recharge and break from group experiences.
- Afternoon Snack: A quick meal to tide them over until arriving home.
- Structured Play & Games: Teachers play with the children to help them learn new skills.
- Pick-Up: Children say goodbye to teachers and each other and go home.
